Three Players That Chelsea Missed in The 4-0 Defeats Against Manchester United at Old Trafford

Manchester United defeated Chelsea 4-0 in the Match Day one of the Premier League season as Chelsea struggled defensively for much of the contest.

The host was fortunate as they were awarded a penalty in the early stages of the game after Rashford was brought down by Kurt Zouma in the Chelsea box.

Rashford dispatched the spot-kick to open the floodgate for more goals as his side Manchester United ran rampant in front of goal.

The Chelsea side were not that bad either althrough the game but it was obvious that the Frank Lampard Chelsea team was missing a couple of personnel on the pitch.

On this note we evaluate three valuable players that was missing from Chelsea’s EPL ouster (4-0) against the Red Devils.

Antonio Rudiger

Chelsea conceded four goals and the equation is crystal clear as things fell apart in the Blues defense with none to hold the center for Frank Lampard’s men.

This was due to some level of inexperience and match mis-calculations in the Chelsea’s defense as Manchester United capitalized on this to nail the Blues at Old Trafford.

This result would have been different if the German center back likened to a solid rock like with AS Roma was available for his side Chelsea as his absence might have caused the Blues the territorial coordination they needed at the back to curtail United attacking foray down to the Chelsea area.

David Luiz

The Brazilian stars’ absence was a major blow as Chelsea lost 4-0 to arch-rivals Manchester United in the Premier League.

It was that serious as Manchester United breezed through the Chelsea defense like never before to score three times from open play in addition to the penalty goals scored by Marcus Rashford.

This is painful as the Blues will have it all to do against Leicester City as expectation beckons on the team most especially with the match at home.

Willian Borges

Chelsea’s best player was missing due to injury as Manchester United capitalized on this to nail the Blues at the theatre of Dreams.

His absence meant that Chelsea lacked the level of leadership and experience the Brazilian brings while the glamour he displays on the pitch was inevitably missing to Chelsea’s dismay.

Willian’s free-kick and set piece-situation would have been vital in this game as the Blues needed the momentum to profit from the match to no avail due to the Brazilian injury.
