Former winger Willian urges Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi to join Fulham

Former Chelsea player and current Fulham winger, Willian, has encouraged his former teammate, Callum Hudson-Odoi, to join him at Craven Cottage.

Willian, who had spent time at Stamford Bridge with Hudson-Odoi, wants the young Chelsea attacker to consider making the move to Fulham.

The South American has signed a new one-year contract with Fulham, despite being a free agent initially. He had received offers from Nottingham Forest and at least one other Premier League club, but he chose to re-sign with Fulham.

The 34-year-old had an impressive season last year, contributing with five goals and five assists in 27 Premier League appearances. Fulham finished in the tenth position, making it a successful campaign for the club.

Willian is hopeful that his former Chelsea teammate, Hudson-Odoi, will join him at Fulham this summer. The winger has expressed his desire to leave the Blues and has already agreed to personal terms with Fulham.

As quoted by the Evening Standard, the Brazilian said:

“If he comes here, it would be good for us, and I hope he can come. I don’t know if he will join – I haven’t spoken to him. I am waiting after seeing it in the newspapers and media! He is a very good player.”

He was not part of Chelsea’s pre-season tour in the United States, indicating his intention to move on. The Blues are open to selling him and is currently in negotiations to finalize a transfer fee.

In addition to Hudson-Odoi, Fulham have already secured deals for Calvin Bassey and Mohammed Salisu from Southampton. Furthermore, they are on the verge of signing Raul Jimenez from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a fee of £5.5 million.

The best news for Fulham is that their manager, Marco Silva, has turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli.
