Nottingham Forest secure deal to sign Chelsea attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Nottingham Forest have completed a transfer deal with Chelsea to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi.

After reaching an agreement on personal terms beforehand, Forest obtained approval from Chelsea on the transfer deadline day. According to Romano, Hudson-Odoi is scheduled to undergo medical examinations on Friday morning.

Initially, Fulham seemed to be the favourite to acquire the English forward. However, their focus shifted to Sevilla’s Lucas Ocampos, paving the way for Forest to make their move.

Chelsea decided to sell their star player as they no longer considered him necessary for their squad.

Despite spending his entire career at Stamford Bridge, Hudson-Odoi has not been able to meet expectations since joining the senior team. His performance has fallen significantly short of what was expected.

His loan period at Bayer Leverkusen in the previous season also did not go as planned, as he struggled to secure a regular spot in Xabi Alonso’s lineup.

Mauricio Pochettino made it clear to Hudson-Odoi that he did not have a place in his plans, evident by his exclusion from first-team training. The English attacker aims to rejuvenate his career in his upcoming journey with Forest.

He will be among numerous players expected to join City Ground on the transfer deadline day, as Forest are actively working on their transfer.
