Manchester United have reportedly made an approach to sign Chelsea wing-back Marc Cucurella on loan ahead of the September 1 transfer deadline.
According to a report from The Daily Mirror, it is claimed that United are making a late push to sign the Blues defender Cucurella who has failed to impress the Stamford Bridge top brass since his move to the club last year.
The Red Devils are looking to bring in an emergency signing in the final days of the summer window with their first choice left back Luke Shaw picking up an injury which could sideline him for the coming weeks.
United are hoping to strike an agreement with Chelsea to loan the Spanish full-back until December 31 with Eric ten Hag’s side on the hunt for a short term loan deal with Shaw and Tyrell Malacia both out injured.
Cucurella is said to be the leading candidate for the Premier League giants who also have the likes of Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon and Barcelona’s Marcos Alonso on their shopping list.
