Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel keen to sign Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah

According to the Evening Standard, Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is keen to bring Trevoh Chalobah to Bayern Munich, despite an initial loan offer being turned down.

Chelsea are reportedly willing to let the defender go, but they are looking for a transfer fee of at least £50 million. They currently have a surplus of defensive players, although some are sidelined with injuries, ranging from ACL injuries to hamstring problems.

Chalobah, who is also injured, has not yet made his competitive debut under Mauricio Pochettino’s management.

A potential summer departure seems increasingly likely, as the Blues are reportedly willing to negotiate, and Bayern are eager to strengthen their defense before the transfer window shuts.

While the German giants face the prospect of losing Benjamin Pavard to Inter Milan, Tuchel is hesitant to approve Pavard’s exit until a suitable replacement is identified.

Bayern are under pressure to secure a replacement for Pavard, who has just one year remaining on his contract at the Allianz Arena. If they fail to do so by Friday’s transfer deadline, they risk losing him for free next year.

Chalobah is among the candidates on Bayern’s shortlist, but negotiations with Chelsea may prove challenging, as they are only interested in a permanent transfer for their homegrown talent.

In addition to Chalobah, Chelsea are also considering offers for Marc Cucurella, who is deemed surplus to requirements. Pochettino prefers Ian Maatsen over Cucurella.

Manchester United are now a potential destination for the former Brighton & Hove Albion player, as Erik ten Hag is interested in acquiring a specialized left-back this week.

United will be without Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, and although Diogo Dalot performed well last weekend, he is not considered the long-term solution for the left-back position.

There are discussions about a season-long loan for Cucurella, and while Chelsea are open to this possibility, they will require the Red Devils to pay a loan fee and cover the player’s wages for the duration of the loan agreement.
