Chelsea warned against making a move for former player Eden Hazard by Steve McManaman

Chelsea have been warned against making a move for former forward player Eden Hazard by player-turned-pundit Steve McManaman.

The Blues have been linked with an interest in landing Hazard’s services two summers after he left the Chelsea camp to sign for La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid in a mega-money deal.

Hazard’s career has taken a hit for the worst while in the Spanish capital city and there are rumours doing the rounds that the Belgium international could be willing to stage a return to England’s top flight with his former colours.

Thomas Tuchel is on the hunt for reinforcements in the attacking department despite his star-studded roster with Timo Werner’s future at the Bridge subject to much speculation amid Bayern Munich’s interest in the German striker.

Former Liverpool man Steve McManaman, now a pundit for BT Sport, has issued a warning to Chelsea that signing Hazard will not be a good piece of transfer business for the west Londoners with the forward past his prime, claim reports from football.london.

“He wouldn’t even be guaranteed a place in Chelsea’s current starting eleven.”

“He’s a couple of years older than when he left Chelsea and his form has dipped.

“That final year at Chelsea was outstanding, but owing to injury he hasn’t hit those heights again.”
