Chelsea star Willian has revealed that he would be open to continue playing his football in England, but would prefer a move to LaLiga giants Real Madrid or Barcelona instead.
Gunners legend Martin Keown has stated that Willian is unlikely to end up crossing over to London rivals Arsenal when he hits free agency, and the Chelsea forward would likely consider a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid to continue playing his football at a top-level.
Willian is approaching the end of his current contract at Stamford Bridge and no extension has been agreed upon by the player. This means that a change of scenery is to be taken in after seven years with the west London giants.
The 31-year-old Willian has stated that he would be happy to remain in England, preferably in the capital London, and has been linked with a move to join either arch-rival Arsenal or reunite with Jose Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur.
However, Barcelona remains the favourites to sign Willian in the summer as the Brazilian had previously claimed it would be a dream to join the Camp Nou outfit.
Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown ruled out a move for Willian to the Emirates hinting that the star winger would aim to join a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid instead, While speaking to talkSPORT, the 53-year-old former Englishman said, I don’t see him going to Arsenal. “I think he’s aiming for Barcelona or Real Madrid. He’s an incredible talent. Chelsea will be weaker if he goes but Frank Lampard knows what he’s doing. I’m sure he wants to keep him.”
Since joining Chelsea in the summer of 2013 and has won 2 Premier League titles including one FA Cup and one League Cup with the Blues.
