Trevoh Chalobah signs four-and-a-half-year contract extension

Trevoh Chalobah has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year contract extension with Chelsea following his breakthrough at Stamford Bridge this new season, confirmed the club’s official website.

The 22-year-old has impressed many with his showings at the back for Thomas Tuchel’s side and has featured in 10 outings with the player scoring a goal on his debut outing at the Bridge which came in the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Chalobah, a product of the famed Chelsea youth academy, penning extended terms with the west Londoners speaks volumes of the faith Tuchel has in the defender on the back of his stellar run of form that has clearly exceeded expectations.

Tuchel faces a crisis on the contract front with his star defensive duo of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen with both players’ deal at the Bridge due to expire next summer.

Chalobah agreeing on extended terms with the Blues camp is set to come as a respite to the club who have been pushing for Rudiger and Christensen to commit their long-term future in the Chelsea colours.
