Trevoh Chalobah faces an uncertain future following Levi Colwill’s arrival

According to Standard Sport, Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah is facing an uncertain future at the club this summer.

While he desires to continue playing for his childhood team, he may struggle to find a place in the squad due to Levi Colwill’s return from his loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The newly appointed Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino, holds Colwill in high regard and intends to promote him quickly to the first team. This potential promotion could result in Chalobah being pushed out of the squad.

Chalobah has recently come back from loan spells at Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town, and Lorient before making a name for himself at Chelsea.

The 24-year-old centre-back is uncertain about his future at the club this summer. Chalobah, who has been with Chelsea for the past two seasons, expressed his desire to stay at his boyhood club.

However, his chances of securing a place in the squad may be hindered by the return of Colwill from his loan spell at Brighton.

Chalobah made a strong impression during the UEFA Super Cup under former coach Thomas Tuchel.

The German manager granted him his Premier League debut in a match against Crystal Palace, where the young defender not only helped the team keep a clean sheet in a 3-0 victory but also scored an impressive goal. Despite these achievements, Chalobah’s future at the club remains uncertain.

However, Pochettino prefers to work with a smaller group of players. The manager aims to have only four central defenders, particularly as the team will not be participating in European competitions this season.

This could pose a challenge to Chalobah’s chances of securing a spot in the squad for the upcoming season.
