Tammy Abraham convinced Ross Barkley to join Aston Villa on loan

Chelsea will return to Premier League action against Crystal Palace this Saturday and will be expected to bounce back from their last draw which saw a comeback to make 3-3 against West Brom.

The Blues has had a mixed start to the Premier League campaign and till now, collected just four points from the first three matches.

Chelsea coach is still trying to find the best possible line up with the available players, and he will be delighted to welcome some of his talented players returning from the injury.

Huge summer spending saw Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech arriving at the Stamford Bridge that made Barkley fall down the pecking order.

The 26-year-old midfielder played superbly and was a regular started under Frank Lampard last season. Probably, he too believed that hew will at least get more chances than the rest after his good display but it seems Lampard wants the best displays from his players.

Barkley was hungry to be in the first-team of Chelsea and wished to get a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s squad as European Championships are knocking on the door.

But these series of events turned the situation upside down and Lampard has cleared who he is prioritizing this season. Youngster Tammy Abraham aided him to convince Barkley to join Aston Villa, where he will be a loanee for one season.

“It’s really exciting and I spoke to Tammy and he explained how he loves the club and said how good it is when the fans were there,” Barkley said to Villa TV.

“Hopefully they can all get back soon and we can enjoy it. We’ve adapted well to it but it’s not the same without the fans.”

Tammy Abraham’s words inspired Barkley to move to Aston Villa and there were no second thoughts. Abraham was instrumental in this move as he himself has spent a loan spell in Aston Villa earlier. Barkley’s departure has certainly revealed what and whom Lampard wants sin this new Chelsea project.
