Ross Barkley sent to Aston Villa in a season-long loan deal

Chelsea’s Ross Barkley joins Premier League club, Aston Villa for a season-long loan, confirmed the Blues on their official website. The attacking midfielder was a fine prospect when he joined from Everton with lots of expectations.

Since his move to Stamford Bridge in the year 2018 of January, the player has played 86 matches in the Chelsea shirt and netted 11 times. This season, the midfielder has featured in three games and has scored only one time against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup.

Ross Barkley to Aston Villa implies a defining stage for the highly gifted England International in his career. Although it is a smart decision by Aston Villa to go for him and take him on loan as Barkley will be eager to show what he’s capable of.

Villa manager Dean Smith said: “Capturing a player of Ross’s quality is a real coup for our club and I am certain he will thrive here and improve our team.”

The 26 years old midfielder has inconsistent spells of fantastic displays that have moved him down the pecking order.  No one doubts his talent but the manager cannot rely on his due to his inconsistency.

Barkley will not be able to feature in Aston Villa’s face-off against Stoke City as he has appeared in the competition for Chelsea last week.

He has not been able to meet the towering hopes the board had on him when he joined the Blues. Therefore, he simply has to score goals on a regular basis this campaign to prevent him from being remembered as an unfulfilled talent forever.

He may make his debut match for Aston Villa against Liverpool after earning three points in the first two Premier League games.
