Real Madrid are understood to be open to a major overhaul in their first-team ranks for landing Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger in the next summer transfer window.
The La Liga heavyweights are big admirers of the 28-year-old central defender who has been involved in a deadlock with the Chelsea board over extended terms beyond the summer of 2022.
Despite Thomas Tuchel pushing for the Blues camp to concede to Rudiger’s demands of a major wage bump, the Germany international has been unable to commit his long-term future to the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Reports from Spanish news outlet AS now have claimed that Real Madrid are ready to hand the axe to four first-team players in Gareth Bale, Marcelo, Eden Hazard and Isco to fund Rudiger’s move and offer him his desired wages.
A weekly wage in the region of €230,000 could be in line for Rudiger should he choose to make the move to the Spanish capital and rebuff the repeated attempts from Chelsea to tie him down to a new deal.
