Antonio Rudiger gives a update on his contract talks with Chelsea

Antonio Rudiger has insisted that is happy at Stamford Bridge despite the speculation being rife over his contract talks with the Chelsea camp in the build-up to next summer.

The Germany international’s current deal with the west London giants runs out at the end of the ongoing 2021-22 campaign and Rudiger has been unable to agree upon extended terms amid other club showing interest in his services.

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain have now been joined by Premier League duo Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to land Rudiger’s signtaure should he decide against staying put with Chelsea.

Thomas Tuchel is understood to be persistent in his demands for the Chelsea board to tie down Rudiger to a new long-term contract with the player key to Tuchel’s first-team plans ever since his appointment to the top job

The 28-year-old defender, however, remains focused on giving his best out there on the pitch and admitted that there were talks underway between his representatives and Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia in his interview with The Guardian.

“The most important thing is that I feel happy here.”

“I think if people look at it, they can see I’m happy. About the contract situation, I talk with the club. This is for nobody’s ears. It was how I said it would be after the Euros – there would be talks.

“There was a talk between Marina [Granovskaia, a Chelsea director] and my agent. We have the situation where we are at now and I have nothing to do with all the speculation. This is not in my mind. I’m focused on what I’m doing because this is why I wake up every morning.”
