Mauricio Pochettino is holding talks with the Chelsea board himself

Mauricio Pochettino is holding talks with the Chelsea board himself and not via an agent as would be usual with the Argentine closing in on the move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

According to a report from football.london, it is claimed that the former Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain manager prefers to discuss the terms of the contract with the Blues on his own.

Talks have been going at a swift pace and positively in the last few days between both parties as Chelsea look to appoint their third permanent manager in 10 months under the new ownership led by Todd Boehly.

Chelsea have been admirers of the highly rated Pochettino in the past and he was considered for the Chelsea hot seat when Thomas Tuchel was handed the sack by the board in September.

The 51-year-old Pochettino, who edges closer to a return to the Premier League, has been out of work since parting ways with Paris Saint-Germain in July 2022, and has rebuffed offers from elsewhere from clubs in various European leagues.
