Lampard laments on the errors made by Chelsea players in the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool

Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard laments on the Chelsea errors which cost them the game at the Stamford Bridge. He believed that his team could have taken at least some points from Liverpool if neither that red card nor that massive mistake by Kepa Arrizabalaga occurred.

The young Spanish goalkeeper again committed an error during Liverpool’s second goal. His attempted pass was blocked by Liverpool ace Sadio Mane who didn’t do any mistake to put the ball in the goal.

The Spaniard was criticized for conceding a shot from outside the box by the Chelsea fans in the previous match against Brighton. The fans took social media to express their grief and anger on the Chelsea No.1 keeper. Yet again the nervous youngster committed a mistake in Liverpool’s 2-0 victory against Frank Lampard’s side at Stamford Bridge.

It wasn’t the only unfortunate thing that happened to the Blues. Late in the first-half stoppage time, Christensen pulled a ridiculous tackle to stop Sadio Mane which was adjudged to be worthy of a red card. With 10 men on the field, the Blues found it very difficult to sustain the Liverpool pressure.

“Big mistake. Clear mistake and when you reflect on the half without the mistake and the penalty we draw the game 1-1,” he said when asked about Kepa’s performance.

“I’m actually happier in many ways than I was after Brighton on Monday. It was a game of spirit and character and lots of individuals showed me good things today.”

Lampard also expressed his regret on not snatching any points from Liverpool in their home game as the red card changed the entire scenario of the match.

He said: “I thought we could get higher up the pitch and would have done with 11.”

“I was concerned with how we would defend our box, first half we were brilliant at doing it but the red card changed the whole course of the game.”

The coach has to work on several things before he picks up his first XI again on the next match with Christensen ruled out due to suspension.
