Hull City 1-2 Chelsea : 3 Significant Things We Learnt From The Game

Chelsea face host Hull City at the KC stadium as both sides was eager to move to the next round of the FA Cup.

In the game, Chelsea took an early lead thus spoiling the tactical organization of the home side as Michy Batshuayi grabbed an opener for his Chelsea side.

It looked very promising for the Blues as young defender Fikayo Tomori added the second goal before Hull City respond with a consolation goal even as the match ended 1-2 in the favour of Chelsea.

It was an all round contest between both sides on the pitch as the visiting Blues prevailed on the might.

On this note, we take a look at the significant things we learnt from Chelsea 1-2 away win over Hull City.

Batshuayi Among The Goals

Chelsea forward was on song as he gave his Blues side an early lead in the contest.

It took the Belgian international striker just six minutes to fire Frank Lampard’s side into the lead leaving Hull to chase the game for much of the 90 minutes.

With Tammy Abraham injured, Michy Batshuayi did the needful while Willian came off the bench to add his influence and experience to aid Chelsea in the latter stages of the match.

Chelsea Through To The Next Stage

The Blues may have been held spell bound at home to Arsenal, courtesy of a 2-2 draw at the Bridge with Arsenal’s goals coming from Gabriel Martinelli and Hector Bellerin to Arsenal’s rescue.

However, an away win at the Hull City side may prove costly for the host, not minding they were not favorite going into the game either as the case may be.

This proved to be Chelsea’s advantage as the London based club more like rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur brighten their FA Cup chances this season with a 1-2 win.

Hull City Deserves Commendation

The Blues may have beaten the Hull City side at home 1-2 at the weekend. However, the FA Cup match between the two teams (Hull and Chelsea) provided an opportunity for both sides to be appreciated for their
effort on the pitch.

While Batshuayi and Fikayo Tomori will be eulogized for their goals, Hull got there from Kamil Grosicki in the 78th minutes.

This deserved resounding commendation as Hull City side showed they weren’t pushovers either against the visiting Chelsea side.
