Chelsea want a big fee to sell Mason Mount to avoid Financial Fair Play issues

Chelsea want a big fee to sell wantaway star Mason Mount to avoid any Financial Fair Play issues after their massive spending on new signings in the last two transfer windows.

£600 million have been spent on overhauling the squad by the new Chelsea ownership which took charge last year and co-owner Todd Boehly remains keen to add to that when the transfer window reopens for business this coming summer.

One notable departure from the Chelsea fold which could be on the cards later this year is that of playmaker Mason Mount whose contract stalemate with the club has sparked off speculation over his future in the Blues shirt beyond the end of the season.

According to a report from football.london, it is claimed that Chelsea would ask for £70 million to green light Mount’s move elsewhere with the west London giants looking to avoid potential FFP issues.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are believed to be the strong favourites for signing Mount who has been identified as the priority target at Anfield with the Merseyside outfit desperate to bolster their midfield ranks.
