Chelsea vs Liverpool: Match report

Last night, points were shared at the bridge. Ever increasing rivalry between Chelsea and Liverpool ended with a stellar from Sturridge.

It took 21 minutes to get a shot on the goal but even that fellow patch had built up a stunning hustle.

The first chance showcased three scintillating Brazilians displaying the South American quality. A looping perfection from David Luiz met the gentle touch of Willian only to be denied by agile save from Alisson Becker.

Few seconds later, Eden Hazard pierced the hearts of Liverpool with his sublime left foot shoot. The top scorer in the Premier league on his own. The Best player in the Premier league, well now who’s arguing?

In the 33rd minute when Salah had almost scored after skinning through Kepa, Antonio Rudiger made it his business to deny the Egyptian maestro.

To sum up first half, we had a superman goal, an eye to eye save from Becker and a goal line clearance from Rudiger.

Becker repaid every penny invested on him with a lionhearted save denying the lion himself, Eden Hazard. It all happened in the 64th minute after Liverpool’s foul was taken swiftly by Kante to pass a perfect ball to Hazard who ran through the empty half of Liverpool whose defenders were still pondering over referee’s whistle.

Against a team like Chelsea you get only one chance and when you had that Shaqiri in the 70th minute, you should have scored. Moments later, Luiz defended Firmino’s header just like his comrade Rudiger did in the first half.

What was missing for 87 minutes was a stellar from Sturridge. Within 2 minutes of his arrive on the field the former Chelsea player was able to level the score with his brilliant dipping shot from outside the box. Even big Kepa could not reach there.

Both still unbeaten! Both still unbowed! Liverpool though the top leaders being chased by Chelsea around.
