Kante Opens up On Liverpool Loss And Chelsea’s Poor Start

Chelsea midfielder N’golo Kante has revealed that the Blues are not exactly where they want to be following their poor start to the new Premier League season.

The West Londoners slipped to another 2-1 defeat against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool on Sunday at Stamford Bridge and dropped to 11th place on the League table. It has not been a great start for new boss Frank Lampard although Chelsea has shown signs of promise with their young guns living up to the expectations of the fans.

Chelsea began their new season by receiving a thrashing by fierce rivals Manchester United on the opening day of the Premier League and that was followed by two draws and two wins until Liverpool visited Stamford Bridge to hand the Blues their second loss of the campaign.

N’golo Kante started his first game in over a month for Chelsea at the weekend and the Frenchman scored a wonderful goal to bring the home side back into contention against Liverpool but it wasn’t enough to salvage a point.

And the 28-year-old has expressed his disappointment regarding Chelsea’s poor start to the season after the Liverpool loss claiming that there is work to do. While speaking to the clubs official website Kante said, “It is not a great start, we have work to do. We are not where we want to be but we can fight and change this in the next games. It was good to come back. I was happy to come back in front of our fans and for this big game. ‘I am disappointed by the result but I am happy to be back to help the team to try to win. We tried our best during the game and we are disappointed by the result.”
