Chelsea are actively involved in a summer firesale, with several players already departing, including Kai Havertz, Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Mason Mount.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are aiming to continue their efforts to achieve financial stability in the upcoming season under new coach Mauricio Pochettino. As a result, there could be ten more player departures this summer.
After a decade at Stamford Bridge, Cesar Azpilicueta is on the brink of leaving Chelsea, with Atletico Madrid having reached an agreement for his transfer.
Initially, Inter Milan seemed to be the frontrunner in the race for the Spanish defender, but Atletico Madrid unexpectedly took over the deal.
There has been significant speculation surrounding the future of Trevoh Chalobah, and Chelsea no longer sees him as part of their plans. Inter has shown interest in the English defender, but their primary target is Atalanta’s centre-back Merih Demiral.
The Blues are also planning to offload other unwanted players, including Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Christian Pulisic. Lukaku is determined to return to Inter after spending two years on loan with the Italian club.
Inter Milan have been engaged in negotiations with Chelsea for a summer transfer involving Lukaku. Chelsea are demanding a transfer fee of €30 million for the striker.
The Serie A giants have proposed an alternative deal, which includes a mandatory buy option along with a long-term contract for Lukaku. They are also looking to pay the transfer fee in instalments.
Ziyech’s situation has taken a negative turn as reports suggest that he failed his medical tests with Al-Nassr, jeopardizing his potential lucrative transfer to Saudi Arabia. Chelsea does not consider Ziyech as part of their plans and will look for an alternative solution regarding his future.
Christian Pulisic is also likely to depart from Stamford Bridge after struggling to make an impact. AC Milan are currently in advanced negotiations to secure his signature, with the player’s approval already obtained.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has fallen out of favour at Chelsea and is deemed surplus to requirements. Other players such as Ethan Ampadu, David Datro Fofana, and Malang Sarr are also deemed available for transfer by Chelsea.
