Chelsea attacker set to leave on a free transfer following his contract’s expiry

Following reports that Juventus are trailing the Blues’ midfielder Jorginho for a move in the summer transfer window, it is believed that the Italian giants are also looking to sign Spanish attacker Pedro if the experienced winger opts to leave Chelsea FC on a free transfer following the expiry of his current deal.

Pedro’s current contract at the Premier League club is set to expire at the end of June. However, with the resumption of the Premier League set for 17th June, there is a strong possibility of the Spaniard extending his deal until the end of the current campaign.

The 32-year old attacker signed for Chelsea FC from Spanish club FC Barcelona in 2015 and has appeared in 201 matches for The Blues. He also has 43 goals and 28 assists to his name while playing for Chelsea FC. He has won the Premier League title for the Blues as well as the FA Cup and last season’s UEFA Europa League.

Pedro has cemented his place as a useful figure in the current Chelsea FC squad possessing considerable experience due to his prestigious playing career.

However, as things stand, the Spaniard could be set to leave the Blues on a free transfer this summer. And it turns out that Serie A champions Juventus are hoping to sign the player, which would reunite him with former Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri. Juventus will battle fellow Serie A club AS Roma for his signature, with the latter also believed to be interested in signing Pedro this summer.

The contract demands of the player will be manageable for Juventus, according to reports. Moreover, there is a possibility of Pedro being involved in a swap deal between the Italian club and the Blues.

Frank Lampard could allow Pedro to leave this summer with the new Chelsea FC manager focusing upon finding long-term solutions towards the team-building process at the club. Hakim Ziyech is set to arrive this summer with his deal already being agreed upon by Ajax and Chelsea FC earlier this year.
