Hakim Ziyech is ready for Chelsea

Hakim Ziyech has revealed that he is confident now is the right time to join Premier League club Chelsea having rejected top clubs in the past few seasons.

The Moroccan superstar will leave Eredivisie side Ajax in the summer transfer window and is relishing the opportunity to make an impact in the Premier League.

The African superstar is eager to emulate the success left by former Chelsea stars Didier Drogba and ex-Ajax star Dennis Bergkamp.

Chelsea agreed on a €40 million (£37m/$43m) deal to sign Ziyech from Ajax earlier this year in January and the 27-year-old does not anticipate any issues in moving to Stamford Bridge on July 1, despite the coronavirus outbreak that has halted the football in almost all European leagues.

The coronavirus has already led to the scrapping of the Eredivisie season, with Ziyech describing the decision not to award Ajax the top-flight title as ‘complete nonsense’.

What happens with the English Premier League season is yet under discussion and it is unclear when Ziyech will be in a position to make his debut for Frank Lampard’s Blues in the near future.

However, Ziyech is looking forward at the opportunity to play in the England top division and the winger feels it is the right moment to be taking the next step in his career having spent the best part of four years with Dutch side Ajax.

While speaking to Voetbal International, Ziyech admitted that it is the perfect time for him to move forward in his career having rejected top European suitors in the past, “Now, everything feels right, Chelsea is a very big and nice club. There are a lot of talented youngsters, which puts me in a position I’m used to after the last three-and-a-half years at Ajax. It suits me well.”
