Barca president Joan Laporta makes major admission over Andreas Christensen speculation

Barca president Joan Laporta has made a major admission over the speculation surrounding Andreas Christensen’s move to Camp Nou this coming summer.

The Danish central defender is understood to be on the verge of signing for his long-term suitors in Barcelona who have been eyeing up the Chelsea contract rebel since the turn of the year.

Despite Thomas Tuchel’s attempts to tie down the Dane to extended terms in the English capital beyond the summer, Christensen had his heart set on signing for the Catalan outfit Barcelona as the player enters free agency come June.

Barcelona, meanwhile, in their pursuit of other highly-rated names in the market have also gained ground in efforts to land AC Milan midfield maestro Franck Kessie, who like Christensen, will be out of contract in the next few months.

The La Liga heavyweights’ president Joan Laporta has now revealed to RAC1 that Barca have concluded agreements for two new signings ahead of the summer in a major hint to the talk of Christensen and Kessie being close to being announced as the new recruits.

‘We’ve completed two signings for the next season.

‘One is a midfielder, the other one is a centre back. But I’m not allowed to mention their names.’
