Chelsea FC’s recent activity in the transfer market has been unrivalled by any other side in the world. The Blues have resorted to an aggressive approach of finalizing transfers in a swift fashion. The Premier League side certainly have left no stone unturned in their desire to return to the top of the footballing pinnacle.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich has no shortage of funds at his disposal to finance Frank Lampard’s squad restoration plans at Stamford Bridge. The Russian tycoon has in the past assisted ex-Chelsea FC managers Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti with their desires of acquiring talented players by laying out a significant amount of money for them to spend.
The signings of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner being officially confirmed by Chelsea FC, Lampard has his eyes set on Kai Havertz next. The German starlet, who plays for Bayer Leverkusen, is a phenomenal player. His arrival at Stamford Bridge will bolster the midfield options at Lampard’s disposal and would be a great addition to the Blues.
The prospect of pairing both Havertz and Werner in one team would be too enticing for Lampard to miss out on signing the former. The German duo have played together in their national team and have linked up extremely well with each other. Moreover, both the youngsters have been terrific in the Bundesliga this season.
Another player who is prominent on Lampard’s mind ahead of the start of next season is the English international Ben Chilwell. The Leicester City FC defender has been linked with a move to Chelsea FC for quite some now, with previous Blues manager Maurizio Sarri also reported to be interested in signing the left-back.
However, with Marcos Alonso and Emerson not performing up to the standards set by Lampard at Chelsea FC, it is heavily speculated that a new left-back will arrive come July. Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico and FC Porto’s Alex Telles have also been considered as alternatives to Chilwell, who will cost the Blues around £50million.
Lampard’s motive as shown by his recent spending spree is clear. The former Blues player wants to go all out to steer Chelsea FC back to the top of the Premier League, with the side having fallen down the league table rankings in recent seasons.
The Blues last won the Premier League in the 2016-17 season under Antonio Conte. The years following that have seen sub-par performances from the Chelsea FC side and both Conte and his immediate successor Sarri leaving in quick succession. With long-term talisman and Blues icon Eden Hazard finally departing Chelsea FC for Real Madrid last summer, the onus fell upon new manager Frank Lampard to replace the Belgian star. However, with a transfer ban being imposed on the Blues, Lampard could not dip into the transfer market last year to acquire new talent.
Lampard has a clear intention of taking the current Chelsea FC side to great heights both domestically, as well as in the continental tournaments. The former English international will be hoping that he will be considered an icon among the Chelsea FC supporters, both as a player and a manager.

Youngsters like Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, and Reece James have exceeded expectations despite the huge responsibilities thrust upon by them by their coach. They have proved themselves capable of handling pressure at the highest level and would demand the same amount of playtime next season as well.
With more signings expected to be made in the buildup to the 2020-21 campaign’s start, Chelsea FC certainly give the outlook of a resurrected giant in the Premier League. The presence of stars like N’Golo Kante and Pulisic, coupled with the arrival of new signings, would make the Blues a formidable challenger for the Premier League title next season.
