Zola is the new assistant

Chelsea have appointed the legend Gianfranco Zola as the assistant manager of Maurizio Sarri. The 52-year old who enjoyed 7 spectacular years with the Blues is back giving his duties, but a different role this time. Zola played for the Blues between 1996 and 2003 and made a total of 300 appearances with scoring 80 times. While playing for the Blues he won two FA cups, Super cup and the League cup. The 52-year old already has management experiences with English clubs like West ham, Watford and Birmingham. Zola is determined to give his best to the Club as he did playing for the club.

Zola became the assistant manager of Chelsea after resigning as the manager of Birmingham City and is aiming to take the club to greater heights.

The Italian duo has a great task ahead of them, having to assess 40 players. Zola knows that the time is short and is a problem for many other teams, but he is committed  to bring the best out of it. Zola will have to have the same attitude as he used to have as a player; hard-working and persevered.

Zola is excited with his post who added in an interview: “It would be great to be successful with Maurizio and for the club and I will give my best, as I did in the past as a player, For me it is an amazing thing. I am pleased to be here.” The Italian duo are looking strong and confident with Premier League coming their way.
