Ruben Loftus-Cheek was turned down by West Ham United who instead sought a move for Czech Republic international Alex Kral on Tuesday’s deadline day.
The Chelsea midfielder Loftus-Cheek had his future become the subject of much speculation over the course of this summer’s transfer window with rumours of his exit from Thomas Tuchel’s camp.
His loan stint at Fulham last season did not give out the intended results and there was talk of the England international being deemed surplus to requirements by his new boss Tuchel who took over at the Blues only earlier this year.
Reports from TalkSport claim that David Moyes’ West Ham United who raided Chelsea in the final days of this window to sign centre-back Kurt Zouma were offered Loftus-Cheek’s signature but to no avail with Moyes deciding against pursuing a swoop for the fringe Chelsea man.
The 25-year-old Loftus-Cheek will now be staying put at Stamford Bridge beyond this summer and compete for a role on the teamsheet for Thomas Tuchel’s side despite the deadline day addition of Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid in a high-profile transfer.
