Tuchel provides injury update for Chalobah and Ziyech after Wolves draw

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel provided an injury update on Chelsea duo Trevoh Chalobah and Hakim Ziyech following the draw against Wolves on Sunday.

The west Londoners were held to a second successive stalemate in league action on their travels to the Midlands with the weekend fixture finishing in a nil-nil stalemate.

Chalobah was named on the team sheet for the match in the heart of the midfield but the 22-year-old picked up his knock in the opening period with summer signing Saul Niguez coming on to replace him at the interval.

Ziyech, meanwhile, came off the pitch after the hour mark with the Moroccon international sustaining a calf issue as the returning Mateo Kovacic took his berth in the XI for the visitors to Molineux.

Speaking in the aftermath of his side’s affair ( via Metro) in the Midlands, Tuchel admitted the addition of Chalobah and Ziyech to the ever-increasing list of injury concerns but added that neither injury was serious and will be subject to further scans.

‘We can survive a game but we will pay the price for sure. Maybe we already do it with all our midfielders.’

‘Trevoh, hopefully it’s just pain but at the moment it’s very painful. We hope it’s not serious but we need further examination.’

‘With Hakim, I don’t think it’s bad. He got hit on his nerve and his calf was tight. We had to take him off, of course.’
