Trevoh Chalobah rejected a deadline day offer from Nottingham Forest

Trevoh Chalobah reportedly turned down a deadline day offer from Nottingham Forest after the Chelsea defender’s move to Bayern Munich collapsed.

The England centre-back was heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer with a host of clubs eyeing up his signature as Chelsea looked to trim their bloated squad by cashing in on some academy graduates.

According to the transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Forest made an effort to move in for the 24-year-old Chalobah with the club striking an agreement with Chelsea for a deal in excess of £25 million before Chalobah rebuffed the transfer.

It is understood that the centre-back only wanted to sign for Bayern, where his former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel was keen on a reunion with Chalobah and bolster the backline for the German champions.

Chalobah’s chance of securing regular game time for Chelsea this season looks bleak than ever with five centre-backs ahead of him in the pecking order once Wesley Fofana returns from his injury layoff.
