Tottenham Hotspur set to hijack Chelsea’s move for Andre Onana

According to Football London, Tottenham Hotspur has made contact with Inter Milan regarding a potential summer transfer deal for Chelsea target Andre Onana.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper has made a significant impact at San Siro Stadium since joining Ajax Amsterdam last year.

He quickly established himself as a first-choice goalkeeper, displacing Samir Handanovic, and has become one of the key players under coach Simone Inzaghi.

Onana is known for his impressive shot-stopping abilities and commanding presence in the penalty area. His performances were instrumental in Inter Milan’s journey to the UEFA Champions League final.

The former Ajax keeper’s impressive displays have caught the attention of both Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. The Blues is currently lacking a reliable first-choice goalkeeper and may consider parting ways with Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy during the summer transfer window.

Hence, Onana has emerged as a prime candidate. His strong character and vocal presence make him a good fit for the team. Inter Milan’s financial issues raise hopes of a favorable deal for all parties involved.

Spurs also also in search of a new goalkeeper as Hugo Lloris’s potential departure looms, creating a void in quality and leadership.

While Tottenham made the initial approach, Chelsea might have an advantage in pursuing Onana by offering defender Trevoh Chalobah as a bargaining chip.
