Chelsea keen on Manuel Ugarte and Moisés Caicedo for midfield rebuild plans

Chelsea are keen on signing both Manuel Ugarte and Moisés Caicedo for their midfield rebuild plans in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Mauricio Pochettino has identified the engine room as an area which needs bolstering over the summer and the incoming Blues manager will be seen prioritising moves for Sporting Lisbon man Ugarte and Brighton starlet Caicedo.

A major clearout at Stamford Bridge this summer has long been on the cards with the club looking to sign a new goalkeeper, and a striker and bring in new faces to provide company to record signing Enzo Fernández in midfield.

According to a report from The Guardian, it is claimed that Chelsea could be fending off competition from PSG and Liverpool for signing the in-demand Ugarte while Brighton are likely to demand a sizable asking price for parting ways with Caicedo.

Chelsea’s midfield roster could be subject to high profile departures before the next season gets underway with Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic linked with transfers elsewhere.
