Thomas Tuchel’s first interview as the new Chelsea Coach

Thomas Tuchel has given his first official interview since being named Chelsea head coach and has described the excitement he feels in joining the Blues.

The German was named as the new manager of the Blues and was on the sideline at Stamford Bridge when Chelsea versus Wolves ended in a 0-0 draw. He was seen frustrated when Chelsea couldn’t take on the chances to clinch a victory despite having huge ball possession.

Tuchel was asked for an interview which he obviously agreed to give as he sat down with Lee Parker. Tuchel talked about his philosophy o football, why he wanted to join the English Premier League and his goals at the new club.

He even talked about what he thought before signing the appointment later and what he expressed seeing his players on the ground. He gave all that he felt just as he went to manage his side for the first time in not less than 24hrs.

‘It’s hard to explain,’ said Thomas in an exclusive first interview as per the Official Chelsea Website.

‘My life was turned upside down in the past three days or so! It feels amazing to the new head coach of Chelsea and I’m really excited to be here. Me and my staff had the feeling that this was too good an opportunity not to take and personally I felt this was a chance I could not let go away.

‘We could not miss this opportunity to be part of this club and to be part of the Chelsea family. To work with this squad and compete in the toughest league in the Premier League and of course, the Champions League is something we are excited to take on.

‘I met with the team yesterday and worked with them last night, so it was good to get straight to work and we are ready for a difficult game tonight. I’m super happy to be here and really excited to get to work.’

He assures the fans that his main aim will to first improve the position in the League table game by game. He also eyes the Champions League football which is, of course, the most important tournament in Europe. He is very excited to work and also knows that he must find a way to return back to winning else his journey will definitely end like Lampard’s.
