Thomas Tuchel’s exit not expected to play spoilsport to Chelsea’s plans of signing Declan Rice

Thomas Tuchel’s exit is not expected to play spoilsport to Chelsea’s long-standing plans of signing West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, according to transfer guru Dean Jones ( via TeamTalk).

Rice is one of the names who continues to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge with the former Chelsea academy graduate tipped to call it quits at West Ham sooner rather than later.

The Hammers had been firm on their stance to not part ways with their midfield maestro in this summer window should a ‘crazy’ offer not come their way and Rice will be staying put with David Moyes and Co. for the 2022-23 season.

Chelsea, however, are expected to step up their interest in the England international even after the sacking of Thomas Tuchel who had been a huge admirer of Rice’s ability and was keen to bring in the 23-year-old in the previous transfer windows.

The Blues will be looking for reinforcements from the market to freshen an aging midfield that has both Jorginho and N’Golo Kante out of contract come next summer with no headway made in talks to extend their deals.
