Thomas Tuchel held plaudits to former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard

Thomas Tuchel will be heading towards the Merseyside for their upcoming game against Everton in the Premier League at Goodison Park.

The Chelsea head coach will be hoping to give a good game to the ex-Chelsea manager and club legend Frank Lampard’s side, who are currently fighting for their lives.

However, the German spoke highly about the 43-year-old manager and even claimed that it will be an uncomfortable day for his side against the Toffees.

“A little, yes. I still don’t feel 100 per cent comfortable because I took over from him in the middle of the year. We had a quick chat then because he was a real gentleman and sent me a long message after I took over and I replied to him.”

“I was also a huge fan of him as a player and he was a true gentleman when I took over. So, absolutely, I will be happy to meet him in person. Although we will not exchange any gifts. this is agreed. I am also excited because lots of people tell me how great atmosphere can be at Goodison Park and this is one of the true, old-school English grounds to play at.”

It’s said to be a ‘do or die’ match for Lampard’s team, who are currently in the relegation zone, and the Londoners will be needing a tough fight in order to gain three points.

Although their momentum has been misdirected in the previous few games in the league run, the capital club is comfortably sitting in third place.

After the full-time whistle against Manchester United in midweek, the Blues boss remained upset with his players, and a comeback in this match is very likely.
