Thomas Tuchel disclose the truth for not subbing on Lukaku

Chelsea’s head coach Thomas Tuchel kept his £97m signing unused after trailing against Everton in the second half of the game.

Chelsea lost to Everton by a 1-0 scoreline thanks to Richardson’s heroics which was enough to stop Tuchel’s side to come back into the match.

However, the media remained shell-shocked after the German coach looked reluctant to bring on his main-man upfront to put the ball inside the net.

As reported by Goal.com, Thomas Tuchel stated that Jorginho’s involvement was the main reason for not bringing on the Belgian striker into the mix.

Tuchel made three substitutions in the second 45 minutes which saw Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, and Mateo Kovacic step into the pitch.

“Because we brought Jorginho off. We only had three changes.” Tuchel replied when he was asked about Lukaku’s absence on the field.

The Blues never had an opportunity to score at Goodison Park, as they failed to create any clear-cut chances throughout the 90 minutes.

Even though they were down 1-0, they had some bright moments after the hour mark when they had a series of back-to-back goalscoring chances.

Chelsea’s attack, on the other hand, was the absolute opposite of what they had done against Manchester United in the first half.

Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta had the best chances of the game, but they were unable to get past Jordan Pickford.

Despite a terrible week and a setback in the English Premier League, the Londoners have established their value back in the league by winning consecutive matchups in recent months.

Chelsea will be heading into the biggest test of the season at Wembley to face Liverpool in the FA Cup final, and Tuchel will be keen to bring his side back on track.
