Tammy Abraham very elated to repay Lampard’s faith on him by scoring two goals

Chelsea’s striker, Tammy Abraham opened up on his strategy to score goals for his team and the resilience of the team. He talked to the media after he scored a stunning late brace to secure all the three points as they defeated West Ham 3-0 in their Premier League fixture at Stamford Bridge.

Olivier Giroud has been in tremendous form this month since he has got the opportunity so fans and pundit raised their eyebrows when Frank Lampard picked up Tammy Abraham ahead of the Frenchman in the starting XI.

Frank Lampard explained the reason for starting Tammy due to his natural ability to make runs and move in behind the opposition defenders.

‘It was the perfect night to repay the faith of the gaffer.  My job is to help the team score goals by getting in the right areas, and that’s what I did for my two goals,’ said Tammy as per Chelsea’s Official website.

‘They were poacher’s goals, something you do in the park. It’s just about getting in the box, getting in the right areas and being ready for when the ball lands at your feet.

‘Whether it was a cross or shot from Timo, it was about me anticipating, getting ready for rebounds, deflections, and luckily I was in the right place.

‘As a striker, scoring goals gives you confidence,’ added Abraham. ‘I have to give credit to my team-mates, we created a lot of chances, and we defended well as a team. To beat West Ham 3-0 is a massive result.’

Tammy repaid the faith to the coach by scoring two goals when the Hammers looked threatening enough to make a comeback in the match after Thiago Silva made it 1-0. Abraham’s instinctive and opportunistic nature helped him to grab the goals and put the match on the bed.

Abraham emphasized the impressive form the Hammers have displayed this season, and indeed they dominated for a good chunk of last night’s game. When allied with our own recent travails away from home, the outcome was particularly impressive.

‘That was much more like it,’ noted Abraham.

‘The boys said before we needed a performance and that was what we did. They were in the game until my first goal. They are a great side and have been great this year, so we had to stay patient for the second goal.

Tammy also talked about the recent consecutive defeats and said that those weren’t enough to make their confidence low and that- they were hungry to get back to winning terms.

The young striker assured that the team lacked focus in those two games and in this long season, one or two bad game scan happen to any team.
