Spezia are reportedly closing in on a loan with an option to buy offer for Ethan Ampadu with the 21-year-old given the green light to leave Chelsea before September 1’s deadline.
Chelsea are on the verge of completing a deal to bring in Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana for a potential world-record fee and the transfer could set the stage for Ampadu’s exit from the Stamford Bridge fold.

According to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio, it is claimed that Spezia are set to fight off interest from a host of other clubs to land the signature of Ampadu in an initial loan agreement with a €15m buy-option.
Ampadu looks set for a second loan spell in the Serie A with the youngster deemed surplus to requirements by the Chelsea camp who have considered an overhaul of their defensive lineup.
It is understood that Chelsea have decided to retain Trevoh Chalobah who got his first start of the season this weekend in the 2-1 win over Leicester City with Kalidou Koulibaly serving a one-game suspension.
