Sevilla director Monchi has claimed that there are no talks underway with Barcelona for Chelsea’s defensive target Jules Kounde.
The France international centre-back continues to be one of the priority names on the shopping list for Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel who is eyeing up reinforcements from the market in this summer’s transfer window.

“I understand Xavi as Araújo and Koundé together would be great but there’s nothing. Marcão? He’s one of many options in my list”, he added on Galatasaray’s CB.

Monchi’s recent remarks, quoted by the transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, will be music to the ears of the Blues supporters with recent reports sounding out Barcelona’s interest in moving in for the £60 million rated defender.
Kounde is seen as a viable signing for the Stamford Bridge giants with the Frenchman gathering valuable experience of playing at the top level of the game at just the age of 23 and emerging as a star turn for Sevilla in recent seasons.
A setback in their pursuit for Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, with German heavyweights Bayern Munich appearing to be the player’s preferred destination, could mean Chelsea turning their attention swiftly towards wrapping up a deal to sign Kounde.
