Romeo Lavia completes Chelsea medical ahead of move from Southampton

Southampton’s Romeo Lavia is on the brink of being unveiled as Chelsea’s latest addition, as reported by Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.

Sheth stated on Thursday that the 19-year-old midfielder has successfully undergone his medical test, paving the way for his imminent transfer to Chelsea.

It appears that the Belgian star will soon be formally introduced at Stamford Bridge as the club’s newest signing.

Having recently secured the signature of Moises Caicedo from Brighton earlier in the week, Chelsea are poised to deliver more excitement to their fans just a few days later.

Lavia had an impressive breakout season with Southampton in the Premier League last year, making his departure from St Mary’s less surprising.

Despite his young age, the young defensive midfielder displayed significant prowess in the top division last season, which makes his move to West London quite noteworthy.

According to Dharmesh Sheth’s tweet a couple of days ago, Chelsea and Southampton have come to an agreement of £58 million for Lavia’s transfer. The deal is reportedly set to be finalized in time for Chelsea’s league match against West Ham on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s discussion with Lavia played a significant role in the young talent’s decision to move from Southampton to Chelsea.
