Romelu Lukaku is set to stay in the Inter Milan shirt beyond this summer’s transfer window, according to his agent Federico Pastorello, despite Chelsea’s concrete interest in re-signing their former forward.
The Belgium forward had been heavily linked with a return to Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2021-22 season with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel keen to add a proven goal-getter to his side in the summer window currently underway.
Chelsea’s interest in signing the Inter Milan star striker was downplayed earlier by the player himself who was speculated to be pondering over his Inter Milan future after the departure of Inter’s title-winning coach Antonio Conte earlier this summer.

However, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, Lukaku’s agent Pastorello has also voiced his statement on the transfer rumour-mongering with the Italian claiming that his client was keen to stay put at the San Siro giants and would return to the first-team fold after his holiday.
The latest developments on the Lukaku front are sure to come as a major blow to Chelsea’s plans of recruiting a big-name forward heading into the new campaign with Tuchel insistent upon solving his side’s fortunes in the final third of the pitch.
