The 18-year-old star Leny Yoro has attracted huge attention from some of the top clubs in the world. Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are showing interest in the French defender.

The youngster has been instrumental in Lille’s success in the past few seasons. At such a young age, Leny Yoro has already established himself in the Ligue 1 club’s starting XI.

Leny Yoro is a strong centre-back and is known to have similar qualities as Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk. Powerful in the air and a solid presence at the back, he is a player worth watching.

Romano in his daily briefing said:

“The reality is that the situation is still the same as I’ve been mentioning for months – Real Madrid are seriously pushing for Yoro, while PSG will do their best because they already wanted Yoro last January.”

“Chelsea are following the situation, but there are no concrete talks, nothing else. Despite what may have been written elsewhere, I’m not sure there’s much to report here for now.”

Chelsea need to sign a new centre-back to improve their poor defensive record

The Blues are linked with a move to sign a new centre-back since they have one of the worst defensive records in the Premier League this season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side has conceded 45 goals in 27 games this term.

This is a really poor record by a team that has invested millions in signing new centre-backs for the past two seasons.

Marc Cucurella, Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile have failed to live up to the expectations at Stamford Bridge.

Senior defender Thiago Silva’s contract will also end this summer and he is expected to leave the club. This means that Chelsea has a huge void to fill and they need to plan accordingly.

Todd Boehly and his management have an excellent chance to rope in Lille’s Yoro. But they haven’t shown any concrete interest or placed an offer worth mentioning.

As things stand, the young centre-back might prefer to move to a club where he has been guaranteed regular minutes. He can’t afford to sit on the bench as he needs to develop further.

Hence, Romano believes that the Blues are not his ideal destination over fears of stability and game time. Yoro might be attracted towards the possibility of joining Spanish champions Real.

He would have a real chance to win major titles at Santiago Bernabeu if he decides to move to La Liga this summer. It remains to be seen who wins this race to sign the Lille star in the upcoming months.
