Pulisic optimistic about playing for USMNT

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic is optimistic about playing for the US national team despite his lack of game time for his club Chelsea in recent weeks.

Pulisic and his nation are preparing for a match against Cuba with Pulisic most likely to start.

The 21-year-old said that he is feeling good despite his lack of appearances for Chelsea.

‘I feel the best I ever have. I feel very confident in my game. I’m not going to let any of that affect me,’ Pulisic said Wednesday.

I feel very strong, and I’m really looking forward to this game (on) Friday.’

I’m here now to be focused with the US national team, so that’s really all that’s on my mind right now,‘ Pulisic said.

Pulisic signed for Chelsea in the January transfer window last season for £58million but remained on loan at Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season.

He arrived at Chelsea in the summer cutting his holiday short to impress Frank Lampard but has so far failed to do so in his few appearances for the club.

Lampard has plenty of options available to him on the wings and has favored the likes of Mason Mount, Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi over the American.

Pulisic did get an opportunity in the 4-1 win over Southampton last sunday when he was brought on with over 10 minutes of the game remaining.
