Pedro’s latest injury trouble revealed after Spaniard’s final game for Chelsea

Chelsea FC manager Frank Lampard confirmed that Pedro had sustained a shoulder dislocation injury in the recent game against Arsenal. The Spaniard had to be stretchered off the pitch in the Blues’ FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal over the weekend. The match at the Wembley Stadium was Pedro’s final appearance as a Chelsea FC player.

The 33-year old attacker had come on the pitch for the injured Christian Pulisic with nearly 40 minutes of the game still to play on Saturday evening. Pulisic had suffered a significant hamstring blow and had to be substituted with immediate effect. Replacing the young American, Pedro took his place on the left flank with the scoreline being 1-1 at that time.

However, the Blues soon were left trailing the Gunners after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s second goal of the game put Arsenal in the lead. Moreover, Mateo Kovacic was sent off by the referee Anthony Taylor which made matters worse for Frank Lampard’s side.

Pedro’s injury occurred in the added time at the end of the 90 minutes when the Spaniard was the subject of a challenge from Arsenal center-back Sokratis. The 33-year old’s fall resulted in him slamming his shoulder into the ground. Chelsea FC’s medical staff were soon on the pitch, tending to Pedro’s indication of sheer pain in his right shoulder.

However, despite an extensive treatment of the Spaniard’s injury, Pedro came off the pitch in a stretcher, which was a sign of the seriousness of the injury sustained by the winger. The 33-year old will no doubt be unavailable for selection ahead of Chelsea FC’s visit to Bayern Munich later this week.

Pedro’s injury comes amid the Spaniard having agreed upon a move to the Italian side AS Roma. The 33-year old attacker’s current deal with the Blues expires following the end of the current season. The former FC Barcelona man had signed terms with AS Roma and was set to move to the Serie A club ahead of next season.
