Pedro admits Barcelona return is a possibility

Chelsea winger Pedro has admitted that he can’t rule out the possibility of returning to his home club Barcelona in the future but also said that the possibilities are slim.

Pedro came through the famed La Masia academy system and enjoyed considerable success at Camp Nou during the reign of Pep Guardiola.

The Spaniard then signed for Chelsea in the summer of 2015, moving from FC Barcelona.

Pedro’s stint at Chelsea has been fairly successful with the winger helping Chelsea win several trophies such as the Europa League and Premier League. In total, Pedro has racked up 192 appearances across all competitions for the London outfit. In those 192 ties, Pedro has scored 42 and assisted 26.

But Pedro has failed to convince new manager Frank Lampard with the manager favoring the likes of Willian, Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Quizzed on whether such a move could be made by Cadena Ser Catalunya, Pedro said: “Everyone knows what I feel for the club and it’s evident that it’s a possibility to go back. I’ve always said it.

It’s a club I have a special love for because I support them. I’ve had so many experiences there and was there so many years, I feel loved by the fans.

“It’s an option that’s always there and that I hope could happen.”

Pressed further on who needs to make the call for him to return to his roots, the two-time European Championship winner added: “I don’t know if it’s in the hands of the president, the coach or whoever.

“I think for them my return is difficult but it’s clearly a possibility.”

The 32-year-old has made just four Premier League appearances this season and could move on in January with just months left to run on his £100,000-a-week contract

Pedro was linked with a move to Premier League new boys Aston Villa with Pedro’s former Chelsea teammate John Terry an assistant manager at the club.
