Newcastle United are not willing to sell their star forward Alexander Isak this summer.
Chelsea wants him, but the Magpies have set a high price tag on him to keep him in their squad.
Reports from the Daily Mail indicate that Chelsea made an inquiry about the Swedish striker on Wednesday.
However, Newcastle promptly conveyed that Isak is not for sale.
The player himself also dismissed any transfer rumors at the end of last season, further solidifying his commitment to the club.
Arsenal has long been interested in Isak, but they have yet to meet Newcastle’s high valuation.
The club’s hierarchy could potentially value Isak at over £200 million.
This means Chelsea would have to break their own best buy record of £115 million, spent on Moises Caicedo to get him from Brighton.
Last season, Isak led the scoring for Newcastle with 23 goals, making it 35 in all since he came over from Real Sociedad for £63 million.

Talks have already begun about extending his contract with a new and improved deal, despite his current agreement running until 2028, as reported by Chronicle Live.

If Callum Wilson were to leave St James’ Park this summer, following an inquiry from West Ham last week, Isak would likely be the frontrunner for the coveted No. 9 shirt.
When asked last spring about potentially leaving Newcastle, Isak responded,
“I don’t want to engage with these types of questions and rumors.. It’s not my position. I love playing here, we have important games, and my focus is solely on doing good for the team.”
