Chelsea loanee Ross Barkley has attracted attention from Newcastle United who are understood to be in the running to make a move for the Stamford Bridge outcast in the upcoming summer window.
Barkley has spent the ongoing campaign away from the Bridge in a season-long loan spell at Aston Villa where he has displayed mixed results despite getting an extended run of first-team involvement.
With new boss Thomas Tuchel overseeing a major turnaround for the west Londoners and the German having established his first-team plans for the season to come, it could be a major possibility of Chelsea sanctioning Barkley’s sale in the summer to raise funds which would be required by Tuchel to pursue his priority targets of which Dortmund forward Erling Haaland stands out.
Reports from the ChronicleLive claim odds of 9/1 (via Skybet) for the Magpies to enter the fray for the former Everton man whose future in the Blues shirt beyond the summers becomes ever so uncertain as his stay at Aston Villa nears its conclusion.
Interestingly, Serie A giants Inter Milan and Premier League sides Southampton and Leeds United are also amongst the clubs wanting to make a move for Barkley meaning a widely-contested race could be on the cards to land his signature in the summer.
