Newcastle United eyeing up a loan swoop for Chelsea wing-back Marc Cucurella

Newcastle United are looking to bring in a left back before the summer transfer window closes and there is talk gaining ground that Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella is on the radar of the Magpies.

Cucurella signed for the Blues just last summer from Brighton in a big money deal but the Spanish wing-back has failed to cement his berth on the team sheet with Ben Chilwell firmly ahead in the pecking order.

According to a report from The Telegraph, it is claimed that Chelsea are under pressure to sell players following the soon-to-be-announced capture of Brighton midfielder Moisies Caicedo for a British record £115 million.

Cucurella could be one of the first-team names heading out the Stamford Bridge exit door and Newcastle are hopeful of signing him in a season long loan agreement with a knockdown fee attached.

Arsenal’s Scottish wing-back Kieran Tierney is also said to be of interest to Eddie Howe’s side who will feature in the Champions League this season but the Gunners are unlikely to sanction the player’s exit to Newcastle.
