Frank Lampard spent more than £200 million to overhaul his squad with the backing of the Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich. New summer recruitments came in the form of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, and Thiago Silva this summer.
But it was reported that Kai Havertz’s big signing made Mason Mount very unhappy as the German international plays in the same position as his. It was said that he was concerned about getting enough minutes on the pitch after the arrival of the winger, Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen.
Mount’s Father Hits Back at the Claims of his Son being ‘Unhappy’ with Havertz’s Transfer
This news was denied by Mason Mount as he insisted that he along with his teammates considers the new signing as a positive.
‘You look at our team now and some brilliant, world-class players have come in and that keeps the competition high,’ Mount told Sky Sports.
The 21-year-old Chelsea player welcomes the new faces in the squad. Mount who has made more than 50 appearances for Chelsea last season assures that he and his Chelsea team-mates see the new additions as a positive. All the news surrounding him is total bullshit.
‘Everyone is pushing for places and that’s what you want at a club like this. You want the competition to be there because it keeps standards high.
‘When you’re in this building, you’re competing straight away. Chelsea is a massive club so they are always going to sign top players.”
‘You know that’s going to happen. We’re all competing and the gaffer wants high standards in training.
“I love competing against my team-mates, we all love it.”

Mount said that it is normal for players to come to such a big club when asked about the consequences of Chelsea’s summer spending. The coach wants results and he will recruit to improve the squad to its highest levels.
‘When you have those players coming in, they’re always going to help the team.
‘There’s always going to be that little bit of a feeling that they could be coming into your position. But with me, I’m always positive and up for the challenge.’
“Mount’s Displeasure to Havertz Signing is Fabricated”: says Frank Lampard
Chelsea’s boss already dismissed rumors about Mount reacting badly on Havertz’s arrival during the weekend.
‘I saw the story about Mason Mount and I know it was an absolute fabricated from somebody, particularly if it came from the German end,’ said Lampard.
