Mauricio Pochettino’s appointment to the Chelsea manager job could set the stage for N’Golo Kante’s contract extension with the player keen on working with the proposed head coach.
Pochettino is in line to complete the formalities of his move to the Stamford Bridge hot seat and it is said that progress has been made in the talks held earlier this week with Chelsea keen to confirm the Argentine as their next manager.
According to a report from The Telegraph, it is claimed that the arrival of Pochettino may seal the much-awaited agreement with star midfielder Kante over extending his stay in west London beyond the end of the season.
The World Cup-winning Frenchman is out of contract at the Bridge this summer and Chelsea have long been in discussions with the player and his camp over a new long-term deal amid interest in his services from elsewhere in Europe.
Pochettino was interested in signing the former Leicester City midfielder for Paris St-Germain and the latter would relish playing under the Argentine coach who is tipped to steer Chelsea back to their brilliant best.
