According to the Telegraph, Mason Mount will participate in Chelsea’s pre-season under new manager Mauricio Pochettino if his potential move to Manchester United does not materialise.
Chelsea recently turned down a third bid of £55 million from United for the English midfielder. The Blues are countering by demanding a transfer fee of £58 million plus an additional £7 million.
United have become frustrated in their pursuit and are now exploring other options in the summer transfer market. Should Mount’s transfer to Old Trafford remain on hold, he will join Chelsea for pre-season training. It is worth noting that the academy graduate’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires next summer.
According to recent reports, Pochettino will begin his work as Chelsea’s new manager next Monday, with some players returning to training the following day.

The manager has made it clear not to include players who have expressed their desire to leave the club in the squad for the pre-season tour in the USA, which commences on July 17.
While Mount’s future is uncertain at the moment, the England international has reaffirmed his commitment to Pochettino and stated that he will continue to work hard for Chelsea unless a transfer takes place.
It is encouraging to see that despite his interest in joining United being public, he remains dedicated to giving his best for Chelsea as long as he remains with the club.
There is still time for the USA tour to begin, and a lot can happen in the transfer market during that period. It would be beneficial for everyone involved if Mount’s future is resolved in the next few days, along with other players whose Chelsea futures are uncertain.
This would allow Pochettino to have a fully committed squad of players for an important phase of preparation leading up to the start of the upcoming season.
