According to the Metro, Manchester United has opened talks with Chelsea to sign star midfielder Mason Mount this summer.
The 24-year-old player is said to be leaning towards a move to United. While no official offer has been made yet, negotiations have started, and personal agreements are believed to have been reached.
This potential transfer would be a financial advantage for Chelsea, as Mount’s contract expires at the end of the next season. United is growing more confident in their chances of signing the midfielder once the summer transfer window opens.
However, there are conflicting reports on the transfer fee, with United considering a £55 million offer while the Blues is said to be asking for £70 million.

It was previously thought that the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea’s manager would influence Mount’s decision, but this does not appear to be the case.
Despite The Blue’s efforts to retain their midfielder, he has reportedly shown a desire to leave the club. There are conflicting reports regarding Mount’s alleged refusal to engage with the board, with his agents being involved instead.
The academy graduate’s representatives have denied that money is the motivating factor behind his decision. It appears that the club is powerless to prevent his departure and should focus on the upcoming season.

If the Red Devils agrees to the requested transfer fee, Chelsea could potentially use the funds to acquire another midfielder. It would a good decision to sell the player and generate a profit before it becomes too late.
